How do I get to the racecourse?

The racecourse is located on the A5, just south of Towcester. The nearest train and bus stations are Milton Keynes (11 Miles) and Northampton (11 Miles). For information on all train services please contact National Rail enquiries on 08457 484950 or visit their website at

Are all meetings FREE ADMISSION?

Currently, all greyhound and horse racing meetings offer free admission, with the exception of the horse racing meeting on Boxing Day. This meeting will have an admission charge of £10.00pp for anyone 16 or over.

Can I buy admission tickets in advance?

Yes. Tickets are available for any charged race meeting in advance for parties of 10 or more.

What times do gates open on a race day?

Horse racing meetings: Gates open two hours before the first scheduled race time.

Greyhound racing meetings: Gates open one and a half hours before the first scheduled race time.

How much is the parking?

There is no charge for car parking. We have plenty of on-site parking and our car parking marshals will direct you on arrival.

Is there disabled access?

Yes, we have a disabled car parking area. Please show your blue badge and our car parking marshals will be happy to direct you. There is wheelchair access to the enclosures, and both grandstands have a lift. Disabled toilets can be found of the ground floor of both grandstands, and there is a viewing platform at the front of the Grace & Empress Stands, overlooking the course.

What should I wear?

Guests attending the course are asked to dress smart casual if dining in one of the restaurants. General public are asked to dress appropriately and gentlemen are required to wear a shirt or top at all times even in hot weather.

Is there a cash machine?

There is a cash machine located within the Empress Bar (Ground Floor of the Empress Stand), which is available on race days only. Please note the machine charges for use.

How much is a race programme?

Race programmes are available to purchase on the day for £3 each.

Where can I eat & drink?

We do recommend booking in advance if you wish to dine in one of our restaurants. Packages start from £38.50pp at the greyhound meetings, and £50.00pp at horse racing meetings.

The Empress Bar is open to the public, and is located on the ground floor of the Empress Stand.

Mobile food outlets can be found on the course, selling hot beverages and freshly prepared take-away food options.

At horse racing meetings, The Champagne Bar, is also open to the public, and is found on the ground floor of the Grace Stand, where there is a food outlet serving a selection of light meals and snacks.

Can I bring a picnic?

We do not allow any items of food or drink, including picnics, to be brought into the racecourse enclosures. Refreshments and beverages can be purchased from outlets within the site.

Is the racecourse suitable for children?

Absolutely. Children are very welcome and under 16s get in free on charged meetings. There is a baby changing area within the Empress Stand.

Can I bring my dog?

We do not allow dogs and pets into the racecourse enclosure (expect guide dogs).
